Wisdom Teeth

Wisdom Tooth Removal

Wisdom teeth usually come through between the ages of 17 and 25. Often there isn't enough room for them. If yours are causing pain, swelling or repeated infections, I can remove them safely and comfortably. Many patients are surprised by how much easier it is than they expected.

Why might your wisdom teeth need to come out?

  • •

    Impaction

The tooth is stuck under the gum or in the jawbone, causing pain, swelling and infection.

  • •

    Crowding

It's pushing your other teeth out of line, or undoing orthodontic work.

  • •

    Decay and gum disease

A part-erupted tooth is hard to clean, so food and bacteria build up.

  • •

    Cysts

Rarely, an impacted tooth can form a cyst that damages the bone around it.

I've removed thousands of wisdom teeth, from straightforward cases to deeply impacted ones close to the nerve. I'll take a scan first, so I can plan exactly how to remove yours with as little disruption as possible. Nervous? I also offer IV sedation.
